Other Weekly Services

For a great looking Utah Landscape, we offer a weekly maintenance package. We can perform either or both of the following services in tandem with regular weekly mowing. These are not including in mowing, but may be purchased alongside mowing:

Weekly Weeding - Greenland offers a weekly weeding service. Pairing this with our standard weekly mowing takes care of the most basic parts of your landscape that can take time from you important and busy schedule. FAQs

Do we bag or mulch grass clipping?

At Greenland Lawncare we do what is best for our Utah Landscape. There is a lot of debate surrounding the topic of bagging grass clippings or mulching them back into the yard. Our professional grade mowers are setup to finely mulch grass clippings so they break down easy. This allows your grass to quickly and effectively absorb nutrients that it needs to stay healthy and lush in our Utah climate.  Because our mowers are setup to mulch grass clippings, our standard services do not include bagging of grass and/or hauling it away.

Why do we use a string trimmer aka weed whacker?

Sting trimmers allow grass to be cut to the same height of a mower even if it is in a hard to reach spot. Trees, fences, playsets, curbing, or other things in a yard can be hard to mow around. String trimmers allow our crews to make sure all sections of your yard are the same height.

Why mow every week?

The benefit of regular scheduled mowing is it helps to preserve the health of your grass. When grass is cut regularly to the proper height it promotes the correct growth patterns of your grass. One of these growth patterns is the spreading of roots also known as crowns. When turf is cut at a consistent height the grass will put more energy into the root structure instead of the blade because they keep getting cut off. This allows for a thick root system to develop which will bring in more water and nutrients to the grass blades resulting in a deep green lush grass. Mowing at a consistent height may also help mitigate broadleaf weeds like dandelions. This is because the weeds will be cut with the grass and they learn they cannot thrive in the same environment as they are used to growing taller than the mowing height.

How long is the mowing season?

Utah’s mowing season is roughly 31 weeks, based on the growing season from March through the last week of October. Greenland Lawncare and Landscaping changes the cutting height throughout the season to allow the needs of your grass to be fulfilled.
